Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer applauds the travelling fans at the end of the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Manchester United at Selhurst Park on February 27, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.

If Palace threatened a second through substitute Max Meyer, United were clinical in delivering their third, in the 83rd minute through Young.

A battered and bruised United squad were hit with an unprecedented number of injuries but banked on their desire and the vociferous backing of the home supporters to restrict the Reds from taking any advantage of a weakened United. "Even though they had possession, I can't remember David de Gea making a save".

But Crystal Palace have found form at the right time.

The intense 0-0 draw against rivals Liverpool was the latest impressive performance overseen by Solskjaer, who had to deal with Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and his replacement Jesse Lingard being forced off through injury in the first half.

Luke Shaw will start as the left-back.

"Jimmy Garner is a Michael Carrick-type player, but 20 years younger".

United took their players on a warm-weather training camp in Dubai at the start of January.

Solskjaer has led the Red Devils to eight Premier League wins sharing points with Burnley and Liverpool last week only.

Romelu Lukaku celebrated his two-goal showing on Wednesday night by introducing Manchester United team mate Alexis Sanchez to some early 2000s R&B. Yet ultimately this is simply one extra sprint per player, per game. He scored twice last time out against Leicester City and will be hungry to get more especially against his old club!

But Solskjaer's results are impossible to fault, and this victory particularly pleased the United boss. "We had the game under control", the Belgian forward told BT Sport. Against Liverpool, he endured his most hard test to date.

"We want to keep winning games and keep the confidence coming".

"Big teams like Bayern and Manchester United are full of world-class stars and they changed their way of playing to try to stop us".

And that's the thing: Solskjaer's side didn't sparkle, but they did enough to give the impression they were comfortable. There could be as many as 10 missing for United.
