Xiaomi unveils first 5G phone at MWC 2019

US President Donald Trump's administration has in recent months ramped up efforts to block Huawei, the leader in 5G, by urging allies to avoid the Chinese powerhouse, claiming that national security interests are at stake.

According to Counterpoint Research the smartphone market reached a peak with overall sales falling by around 4 percent previous year.

There is something quite notable about the new offering, however, namely that it sports a five camera array on the rear.

Display and sound Nokia 9 PureView comes with 5.99-inch edge-to-edge pOLED QHD display with 2K resolution.

Let's talk about those cameras first.

The four cameras on its back ended up looking more like gimmicks to lure users than substantial additions to the smartphone. The camera UI is pretty simple with options like bokeh, Pro mode, slow-motion up front.

If you look closely, you will notice that apart from the five cameras and the LED flash, there is one more circle. The cameras capture details and texture from the highlights and shadows, plus incredible depth-of-field and vibrant, truest-to-life color. While the Nokia 1 Plus is a true low-end smartphone, the Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2 can do a little more. That results in less noisy images crisping in from of our eyes with crystal clear sharpness and tons of dynamic range.

Another way HMD has differentiated the Nokia brand is through the use of its "pure" version of Android, known as Android One.

The Nokia 9 PureView heads a range of smartphones announced by HMD on Sunday, including an entry-level and two mid-level handsets, all created to work with Google's Android One, which guarantees two years' of operating system upgrades. Light's technology combines 10 different images into a single super high-res photo. The phone also comes with a metal frame with glass panels covering the front and back sides. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor that came out past year but end users won't really find a difference in the speed or rendering of graphics.

Moreover, the phone is IP67-rated.

Just like other Nokia phones, PureView runs on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. It's charging system supports, fast battery charging of 18W (Quick Charge 3.0), as well as fast wireless charging 10W. Even though a high-end chip, Snapdragon 845 is one generation old processor. The phone did take about five seconds to process, but the company says this will not be the case once final units start shipping. The company notes that the Nokia 9 PureView will be offered in the sole Midnight Blue colour.
