Cite Yeddyurappa's contribution to Karnataka, Siddaramaiah asks Modi

Referring to Mr Gandhi's recent election campaign speech wherein he called JD (S) the "B" team of BJP and that JD (S) actually stands for "Janata Dal Sangh Parivar"; Prime Minister said: "You all must have seen how he (Rahul Gandhi) treated him (Deve Gowda) during a public gathering about 10 15 days back".

Modi said that if Yeddyurappa becomes the chief minister, he would play an active role in empowering the farmer community in Karnataka.

Before Modi addressed the voters, Yeddyurappa, the BJP's chief ministerial candidate, said the BJP will win more than 150 states. When questioned about BJP bringing the Reddy brothers back into the party, he deftly replied, "There are the Reddy brothers in BJP, Ashok Kheny in Congress". So how does he know about the efforts of "kaamdaars". "Such insults strengthen us as we continue to work". Congress president, Sir, we can not sit before you. "You can speak in Hindi, English or your mother tongue".

Party leaders are upset with the development. This is a version of family politics in Karnataka.

Chief minister P.C. Siddaramaiah lost no time in attacking Modi for his changed perception of Deve Gowda. The PM alleged that that even ministers in Congress were following a 1+1 formula as their relatives too were fighting the polls.

While the Congress is finding it hard to match the BJP in terms of the resources at its disposal to contest elections, Twitter has proved a convenient option for Siddaramaiah to reach out to a whole gamut of people. "They want clean and stable government, and rescue people from this corrupt Siddaramaiah government", he added. "Only then people of Karnataka will respect you".

On March 7, Karnataka's anti-graft ombudsman Justice P V Shetty was attacked at his office in Bengaluru.

"In remarks that raised eyebrows in political circles, Modi, while launching the second leg of his campaign blitz for the assembly elections, had lashed out at Congress president Rahul Gandhi for "insulting" Gowda, saying it showed his "arrogance".

"Perhaps due to over-excitement, the newly elected Congress President forgets decency". "Dr. Manmohan Singh said we will electrify villages by 2009, Smt". He said he used to come receive me at my auto and then drop me back when I went to visit him. Showing his indignation at the arrangement, Deve Gowda sent a list of rebel JD (S) MLAs to the Speaker and asked him to disqualify them for disobeying the party whip. Most opinion polls suggest no party getting a majority on its own in the 224-member house, with the Congress ahead of other parties, followed by the BJP and the JD (S) alliance. "The Congress must provide an answer to the rising crime", Modi told a BJP rally. He implied that where we are talking about progress of the country globally, Congress believes in violence.
