Sergio Aguero pleased Manchester City avoided more last-day drama

Raheem Sterling will be one of the best players in the world if he can become a better finisher, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believes.

City has only gotten past the Champions League quarterfinals once since Sheikh Mansour's takeover in 2008. He is one of Guardiola's breakout stars. The noisy neighbors have truly eclipsed the red side of Manchester this season, but where do they rank among the greatest Premier League title winners ever?

With 28 league victories so far, City needs three more wins to top Chelsea's record of 30 Premier League wins in a season.

Manchester City have won the Premier League title with five games remaining; equalling the English top-flight record.

"This is not a dynasty, it is one title we've won".

City had moved within touching distance of the title with a 3-1 win at Tottenham on Saturday.

Guardiola will have to weigh up his concerns about burn-out and getting stale, whether he thinks City will continue to back him financially and through trust in his methods - the answer is surely "yes" on both fronts - and if he has other offers on the table.

"This season has been incredible and the football we've played has been the best I've been involved with while at the club".

Manchester United won the 1999-2000 title by a record 18 points with 91 to Arsenal's 73. But Silva for me tops everybody at the moment in the Premier League. United's 1998-99 side again take top spot, ahead of Arsenal's 2003-04 Invincibles. City is 16 points clear.

Word quickly got around through social media and City fans queued outside a venue still advertising United's televised clash with the Baggies in a bid to join fellow supporters inside, where the players were seen belting out Oasis' Wonderwall and being serenaded by supporters expressing their delight and gratitude. This Manchester City side are aesthetically lovely but they have a weakness about them that can be exploited.

"City's mental fortitude remains in doubt and their defence in vulnerable".

What does the future hold for Pep and his City slickers?

Guardiola and Mourinho have a long rivalry but the United manager said it was not fair to suggest the West Brom loss was the only reason for City's league title. I don't like to wait and see a team lose so it was different experience today.

Even selecting just one of Sir Alex Ferguson's vintages to compare this City with is a fiendishly tough task in itself. With regard to winning the title we had a late surge really to do so, a late run in the season when we timed it just right.
