Sarma also dismissed the suggestion that the minorities, particularly the Christians in the northeast, were against the BJP, saying the community "wholeheartedly" supported the party.

After heavy losses in Tripura and Nagaland, Nath, Patel and Joshi reached Meghalaya from Delhi in a bid to form a government, party sources said. The BJP first came to power in the northeast by winning in Assam under Sonowal's leadership. "In the past three years BJP has won in about 14 states, in five states there is NDA-led BJP government".

I hope BJP will join our government.

Election verdict for the three north-eastern states Nagaland, Tripura, and Meghalaya were declared earlier today. "This wave of integration can also be felt among the people of Karnataka", he said.

On Saturday, he merely said: "The draft political line released by the central committee will be debated at the party congress".
