Serial flopper Grayson Allen strikes again as Duke loses to Virginia

It was the resounding play in a 65-63 victory for No. 2 Virginia over No. 4 Duke on Saturday afternoon, just a few hours after North Carolina fell to N.C. State in Chapel Hill, the first time both programs dropped a game at home on the same day since February of 1973. North Carolina's late rally cut Virginia's lead to eight in the final two minutes, but the mountain was ultimately too high to climb. Guy had a team-leading 17 points, followed by Hall with 14, Jerome with 13 and Hunter with 12.

Bennett deflects all the praise to his players and even tried to say that Duke had an "off night".

Just since 2011, Duke has had 10 of the so-called one-and-dones, including nine who were selected in the first round.

"I was a freshman once, and youre not really prepared for this type of pressure that we put on the ball and our defense", Guy said.

Kaminsky averaged 7.7 minutes as a freshman at Wisconsin and started a total of two games in his first two seasons, a career path that Bennett has pointed out to the Cavaliers' Huff, a 7-1, 230-pounder.

It doesn't usually come until roughly the midway point, or thereabouts, of the second half, so when Krzyzewski went to it early, it was a sign that things were getting pretty desperate on the Duke sideline.

In the final seconds of that game, the Blue Devils" Grayson Allen got away with a travel, and hit a buzzer-beater to sink the "Hoos 63-62. However, Duke would storm back in the second half, taking the lead at 41-39 with just under 13 minutes remaining.

Knox offset a strong performance by Jevon Carter, who had 26 points as the Mountaineers (16-5) blew a double-digit lead in the second half for the third time in five games. "I didn't want to make that same mistake again". "And they do a great jobs with the rotations especially the big guys".

There's no substitute for experience, and Duke got a first-hand look on Saturday at the toughness and poise it takes to be the best team in America.

"I know a lot about you guys, but I'm going to find out more", he said.

"He's a big-shot taker and big-shot maker", Hall said of Jerome.

MEMPHIS - Gary Clark had 18 points and 9 rebounds, Jacob Evans added 14 points - including a pair of three-pointers to break Cincinnati out of a second-half shooting slump - as the No. 9 Bearcats defeated Memphis for their 12th consecutive victory. It's also indicative of how this team wins by playing tough on defense and smart on offense.

"Winning here, I'm really thankful", Bennett said.

Instead of running itself to death on the perimeter, Duke settled into the zone defense that won it a game at Miami two weeks ago and has been an effective change of tempo.
