Local African immigrants respond to president's comment

So was Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin of IL, who told reporters separately on Friday morning that Graham stood up to the president after he reportedly made derogatory comments about Haiti, El Salvador and African countries, and wondered aloud why the United States couldn't attract more immigrants from predominantly-white Norway.

An immigration policy analyst in Washington DC makes the point that immigrants from Norway actually did badly out of immigration to the USA at the turn of the last century.

Next Friday is the deadline for Congress to pass a national budget, something many Democrats, whose votes are needed, have said they will not do unless there is a fix for DACA.

The African Union (AU) issued a statement on Friday evening calling Trump's reported remarks outrageous and hurtful. Day after day, he takes his small fingers to Twitter to offend, denigrate, and tweet unconstitutional policy.

Durbin also recounted a "heartbreaking moment" when Trump and others "scoffed" at his comments about the importance of family-based immigration.

It said the "remarks dishonor the celebrated American creed and respect for diversity and human dignity".

That President Trump is a racist and is the real shithole.

Trump was 70 when he took office on January 20, 2017, making him the oldest person ever elected to the nation's highest office.

LGBT rights advocates in Haiti have condemned President Donald Trump after he reportedly described their country as a "shithole".

At an event on Friday at the White House, Trump honored the memory of Martin Luther King Jr, the civil-rights era activist who was slain in 1968.

"Those comments are, frankly, disgusting", Lemon continued.

IN less than a year, Donald Trump has succeeded in transforming the United States from world superpower to world laughing stock.

Former Haitian Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe also issued a scathing takedown in response to Trump's remarks.

"I was pissed when I saw what he said". But even those who don't interpret it that way should be appalled that the president would express such disdain and disgust for countries where poverty is rampant, where people struggle because they lack the economic advantages of Americans, where wars are not infrequent. "I'm more excluded because the rhetoric itself is racist and at some point, many times, he denied that he is not a racist".

"His supporters made excuses, continue to make excuses for him".

"I think it was stupid and irresponsible and childish", said Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho. How many examples do you need of this?

"Sorry, but there is no other word one can use but "racist", he told reporters in Geneva. Lemon added. "I can't say that. African-Americans believe that they migrated to America in chains, and when you speak about 'chain migration, ' it hurts them personally", Durbin said.

But he kept up criticism of a Senate immigration plan that he said would force the United States to admit people from countries that "are doing badly".

"Here's why I'm not outraged: People of color warned you", Lemon concluded.

"Uncalled for moreover it shows a lack a respect and IGNORANCE never seen before in the recent history of the USA by any President!".

But we know this is nothing new for Trump and that he would deny it.

Many of those troops are based at a US base in the East African country of Djibouti. He said these hate-filled things and he said them repeatedly'. I could write about the beauty of the island, the music and vibrant art, the majesty of the mountains, the crystalline blue of the water surrounding her, the resilience of the Haitian people, our incredible work ethic, our faith.
