Seattle Seahawks stop Los Angeles Rams' high-powered offense in win

If the Seahawks were to lose on the road, they would not be two games behind the Rams, the Seahawks would also not have the head-to-head advantage.

With rookie Chris Carson now on injured reserve because of an ankle injury suffered last week that required surgery, it's now Rawls' opportunity to reclaim a spot he first earned two years ago as a rookie and has struggled to keep since.

Seattle finished Sunday's win with 62 net rushing yards, continuing an ugly trend that dates back to last season when the Seahawks somehow went 6-3-1 in games where they rushed for less than 100 yards.

"When you get five turnovers, you're supposed to win", Carroll said.

The only player who departed at any point was defensive end Michael Bennett, who hurt his foot in the second quarter but came back. Many have speculated that low attendance at National Football League games and slumping ratings could be a direct result the anthem protests. The Rams were the new hotshots eager to swat down the mighty Seahawks. With 12 seconds remaining, a previously-struggling Jared Goff delivered a ideal seed down the seam after Kupp put Justin Coleman on skates, but the rookie couldn't haul in the pass.

"It wasn't like we weren't moving the ball", said Goff, who was 22 of 47 for 288 yards and two picks.

"If we decide to do it it's just going to be a clean up, " he said. He had made his previous 28 field goal attempts inside of 40 yards. Russell Wilson completed 21 of 26 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns.

Still, even some in the Seattle locker room wondered why it has taken until the fifth game for Graham to score his first touchdown of the season. Richardson recovered the fumble and returned the ball for 20 yards, stopping Los Angeles from regaining the lead.

Clark followed that up with the strip sack. After a fumble recovery, Seattle was held and was forced to kick a field goal. So the Seahawks should be able to move the ball, it's just a matter of extending drives long enough to get points out of them and not making any major mistakes. Wilson spotted Baldwin being tracked by safety John Johnson in single coverage and dropped in a ideal pass.

No amount of talent on defense is going to help the Seahawks if they can't score more than 12 points, which is the most they've mustered so far this season.

Zuerlein converted from 35 yards for a 10-0 cushion. Tavon Austin, a receiver and Gurley's nominal backup, had six carries and one good moment, a 27-yard touchdown run. They are 3-1 under coach Sean McVay, running back Todd Gurley is the stud-hoss running back everyone expected him to be coming out of Georgia and Goff has the second-best quarterback rating in the league behind only Tom Brady.

While it's unclear if Seattle will continue standing throughout the season, the team has made it apparent they will stick together. "We can do a lot better than that". Taking place on Sunday (Oct. 8), the Seahawks are on the road against a division rival that is trying to take away their #Nfc West crown.

"It was really an exciting, hard-nosed, hard-fought, well-deserved win", Carroll said.
