New England Patriots: 3 Takeaways vs Saints in Week 2

Tom Brady's final numbers on the afternoon, 30-of-39 for 447 passing yards.

Brady has now thrown for 714 yards over his first two games of 2017, and remarkably, 302 of those yards came during just the first half against the Saints.

The Patriots did emerge with a new set of injury-related questions regarding tight end Rob Gronkowski and wide receivers Chris Hogan and Phillip Dorsett.

New England went into Sunday's game without Dont'a Hightower (knee), Danny Amendola (head/knee), Matthew Slater (hamstring), Vincent Valentine (knee) and Nate Ebner (shoulder), and then saw even more key players get injured in the game.

In the second half, Brees hit Coby Fleener for a 4-yard touchdown, Gostkowski added two field goals, and Lutz knocked in one. He had no throwing touchdowns in the season-opening loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

BEST SHORT STUFF: Running back Mike Gillislee again proved strong on the goal line, as his 2-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was his fourth of the season.

Rob Gronkowski: Gronkowski had six catches for 116 yards and a touchdown.

Gronkowski had a chance at another touchdown, but dropped a lob pass from Brady in the end zone at the end of the first half.

Pittsburgh consistently pressured Minnesota reserve quarterback Case Keenum in an easy win at Heinz Field.

"We have to get a win and find out exactly who we are".

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger completed 23 of 35 passes for 243 yards and two first-half touchdowns for Pittsburgh (2-0).

Hunt had a 53-yard rushing touchdown in the win over Philadelphia. The Ravens, who had five sacks and intercepted four passes in Week 1 at Cincinnati, are the only team with at least four interceptions and three sacks in each of its first two games of a season since the sack became an official statistic in 1982.

Flacco completed 25 of 34 pass attempts for 217 yards and an interception. This will be quite the sight to see that much is certain as both teams start the season 0-1, and only one of them is walking away a victor. The Ravens are 2-0 for the second straight year, while Cleveland fell to 0-2.

Cleveland rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer left with a migraine midway through the second quarter but returned. The Rams caught up to tie it, 20-20, in the fourth quarter, but never led.

In addition to Gronkowski, both James White and Chris Hogan played good games for the Patriots, as they combined for 13 receptions. After struggling to remain consistent with extra points and field goals past year, Gostkowski missed another extra point today. Their 922 TD passes and 128,251 yards passing combined coming in represented the most in National Football League history by starting QBs the same game.

It's fantastic how long ago it feels when we're all talking about Tom Brady vs Peyton Manning being the top two Quarterbacks in the NFL.

From there on, the Patriots cruised to their first win of the season. But Te'o did not get off in time after a late substitution, and Brady's quick snap led to a penalty for 12 men on the field. It was Tampa Bay's largest halftime advantage since 2001. The play was originally penalized before the refs picked up the flag.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Carolina relied on relentless defense and three Graham Gano field goals in the victory over Buffalo.
