Last night was certainly one not to be forgotten in Cleveland.
Francisco Lindor came to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning with his team down 2-1.
That led to Jay Bruce, who ripped a double to right field to win it, securing the Indians' 22nd consecutive win and by far the wildest game in the streak. The issue is a pesky tie in the middle of the Giants' streak.
With less than three weeks until the playoffs, Cleveland is now set for another tilt at the World Series after losing the decisive seventh game in extra innings previous year.

After all, there's no tying in baseball. That game was thrown out and replayed later, with the Giants ultimately winning.
The Indians have beaten the odds and broken the record by, essentially, playing like an all-star team. The teams they dispatched had a combined season-ending record of 444-526 and only the Minnesota Twins finished the season with a winning record.
"Our guys are enjoying it, and they should", Indians manager Terry Francona, whose club has manhandled opponents 139-35 during the streak and reduced its magic number to win the AL Central to four, told reporters.
While he still shows support for Cleveland's baseball team, he hasn't always been this way. Syndergaard was 1-2 with a 3.29 ERA before getting hurt. "Like, man I haven't talked to you in three weeks'". The sport's "signal-to-noise" ratio is so low that even its most hallowed accomplishments, such as flawless and four-home-run games, can be achieved by players with relatively modest resumes.
Cleveland hitters as a whole are hitting.306/.385/.552 over the stretch, for a 144 wRC+.
Infielder Jose Ramirez made Cleveland fans forget about his.235 August batting average by equalling a major league record with five extra-base hits, including two home runs, in an 11-1 thrashing of the Detroit Tigers. The hit was Ramirez's fourth of the game.
Thank goodness for Francisco Lindor!
The Indians have one goal winning the World Series. It gave them 26 "straight" wins since the tie did not count as a game. We're trying to get the best record in baseball. Winning 22 games in a row will do that to you.
For teams, long streaks of consecutive wins or losses tend to fall into this category.
The hallmark of the Indians' streak had been nearly total dominance, which made their desperate rally in Thursday's game seem all the more impressive.
