On the evening of August 16, 1977, Elvis Presley was scheduled to leave Memphis and head to New England for another tour.

The display features an Elvis Presley-themed coffin - and Elvis enthusiast Tracey Challenor-Howard has marked the 40th anniversary of his death by buying one for her own send off. Standing across Elvis Presley Boulevard as twilight fades into darkness, watching the parade of human fireflies for six, seven, eight hours, speaks to something far more indelible.

Elvis Presley's death on August 16, 1977, had a strong impact in Bryan-College Station, just as it did across the country. "We're really going to make Graceland a destination for nearly any band around the world that comes to the United States".

Fans also make pilgrimages to his Graceland Mansion, which has been preserved for the public to visit.

Thousands more "sightings" have followed in the years since, including a odd spate in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in the late 1980s where "Elvis" was seen buying electrical equipment in a store wearing a white jumpsuit and ordering a Whopper at the local Burger King.

It has not been an easy year for Lisa, who has undergone a nasty divorce and custody case from her estranged husband of ten-years Michael Lockwood.

Some fans are saying they won't attend another vigil.

The first lady of Rock n Roll, Priscilla Presley will be in the valley on Friday to share personal stories of her time with the King of Rock "n" Roll.

"There just never was another person like Elvis", Thompson said.

The 72-year-old star shared memories of her ex-husband with Today on Wednesday, in honor of the 40th anniversary of the King of Rock's death.

But, until it's time for you to go, where better to eke out a quiet existence than Blackpool? She saw him in concert four times. "A huge majority of the money since I've been on has gone right back into Graceland, and into our neighborhood, and local construction jobs to do what we're trying to do", he says. He hadn't performed in over 10 years.
