Simpson, who was the subject of the highly publicized and controversial "Trial of the Century" in 1995, was acquitted in the murder trial his wife Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman.

Simpson, 70, has been imprisoned at the Lovelock Correctional Center for almost nine years on convictions of armed robbery and kidnapping related to some of his football memorabilia.

Well, the parole hearing has promptly started and I will say, to be a woman beater many understandably believe is a murderer, I must say, he looks quite fit for a 70-year-old man. Simpson's two youngest children from Nicole Brown Simpson live in the Bay area. He was given a nine-year minimum on his 33-year sentence.

If the hearing goes in his favor, Simpson would be eligible for parole on October 1.

The NFL Hall of Famer is serving time for the armed robbery of a sports memorabilia dealer in a Las Vegas hotel room.

At his sentencing in 2008, he said he went to the room at the Palace Station hotel to reclaim heirlooms and personal items taking from him.

If the deliberation moves to six commissioners, four of them must grant parole for Simpson to be released.

When it came time for him to discuss the armed robbery charges, Simpson seemed to think he didn't do anything wrong.

O.J. Simpson is expected to tell the board what he would do and where he would live if he is granted parole.
