Kamala Harris Has the Mic Now So Everybody Needs to Sit Down

On Tuesday, it was as she asked questions to Attorney General Jeff SessionsJeff SessionsDurbin on Sessions testimony: Hard to see how he could continue to serve Kamala Harris questioning cut off for second week in a row Sessions decries "innuendo" surrounding him MORE.

Kamala Harris is the only Senator who's been interrupted by another senator so far, by my count.

It is important to note that Harris was the only senator interrupted while questioning Sessions.

If only this tweet would get old, but nope still relevant because the white dudes keep interrupting Senator Kamala Harris.

Harris, 52, was born in Oakland, California. Her mother and father were immigrants from India and Jamaica, respectively.

She grew up watching her African American dad and Indian American mother protest for civil rights in Berkeley and took that fierce fight for justice with her to law school.

Burr's intervention was disrespectful to Harris and counter to the public interest.

Her parents met at Berkeley where her mother was a scientist with a PhD in nutrition and endocrinology, and her father was a professor of economics at Stanford. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass), who was censured during Sessions' confirmation hearing earlier this year and inspired the rallying cry, "Nevertheless, she persisted". That could give Harris, as a Californian well known to California Democrats, a huge leg up in the nomination process. It is nearly as if Senator Harris is not being treated the same as her colleagues. The couple walked down the aisle on August 22, 2014, in Santa Barbara, California.

Like Obama, the first black man elected to the Senate from Illinois, Harris is the first black person elected to the Senate from California. But she cautiously noted that, alongside the progress the country has made, "We also recognize this is an incredibly challenging moment in our history".

Someone must hold them accountable - and it might as well be Mrs. Harris. Instead, former President of the United States Barack Obama chose Loretta Lynch for the role.

"It makes me nervous", he told Harris.

Powers fired back, asked: "How was Sen".

" ... I think calling her "hysterical" is a little gendered thing to say", Powers said. Burr said Harris' time had expired.

Whether she runs or not, she's already making a difference.

Harris' net worth is estimated to be $2.0 million.

Powers: "But he wasn't hysterical, she was".

While it's impossible to say if or when the "manterrupting" will ever end, it does seem that more and more people are at the very least becoming increasingly aware of the problem. It was also Burr who interrupted Harris's questioning of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein during a June 7 hearing, when she demanded a yes-or-no answer on whether or not he would grant Special Counsel Robert Mueller full independence in his conduct of his investigation of Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.
